Glass, plastic, anti-colic, wide neck... Choosing a baby bottle might seem simple, but there are many differences that can change the daily life of both baby and parents. TrioNest™ guides you to choose the ideal baby bottle.
🥛 Materials: glass or plastic?
Glass baby bottles
- Advantages: BPA-free, free from endocrine disruptors, more hygienic, durable, resistant to repeated sterilization
- Disadvantages: heavier, can break
- Ideal for: parents concerned about chemical safety
Plastic baby bottles (PPSU or PP)
- Advantages: lightweight, unbreakable, practical for outings
- Disadvantages: scratches over time, needs to be replaced regularly
- Tip: always choose certified BPA-free plastic
🍬 Narrow neck or wide neck?
- Narrow neck: the classic, compatible with most nipples on the market. Less expensive.
- Wide neck: easier to fill and clean. Nipple closer to the breast, recommended for mixed feeding.

💨 Anti-colic bottles: really effective?
Anti-colic bottles are designed to reduce air intake during feeding, which limits colic and regurgitation. They work thanks to a valve system or an internal straw.
- Recommended if baby suffers from colic or regurgitates a lot
- More complex to clean (more parts)
- More expensive than classic bottles
🍪 Choosing the right nipple
The nipple is as important as the bottle. Criteria to check:
- Flow rate: slow (0-3 months), medium (3-6 months), fast (6 months+). A flow that is too fast makes the baby swallow too much air.
- Shape: classic round or anatomical (closer to the breast)
- Material: silicone (odorless, durable) or latex (more flexible, needs to be changed more often)
💰 How many bottles to plan for?
- Exclusive breastfeeding: 2-3 bottles are sufficient
- Mixed feeding: 4-6 bottles
- Exclusive bottle feeding: 6-8 bottles to avoid constant washing
